Description

Ok, here's Waleron, Master of the White Flame, in his Dragon Form.

He's Sarkis' younger brother, and leader of the Fire Masters and Mistresses. Very proud and firm on the outside, but has a gentle, father-like core.

His Flame, 'The Pure Flame', is the most powerful. It can both create and heal, and has another unique power that truly makes it stand out: it purifies. The wielder of this Flame can sear his or her fire into one or several targets, and literally cleanse their heart and mind. This is a good means of saving those who were Corrupted, and also a deadly means of killing an opponent...

This dragon is done so beautifully. You really did manage to convey the softer side in an otherwise stoic pose. He looks stern but because you avoided sharp lines and kept things rounded and smooth you captured the good-father aspect you said you were going for in you description. The anatomy of the neck, face and shoulders are spot-on, and I really love that his face is so much like a dinosaur and less like a modern day reptile. Very refreshing to see on a dragon, and in my opinion, difficult to pull off. As for what could be improved upon, I think the weakest aspect of this piece is the fin. The lines in the rest of the drawing are so defined and dark, that the fin does not seem to be part of the same dragon, it seems like it is behind the dragon rather than a part of it. Simply darkening the lines at even just the base would remedy this and make the entire piece work together a bit better. I do love the pattern on the fin, and the suggestion of how it might be colored. Because the rest of the dragon also has such definitive, sharp, shading, the soft shading on the fin also looks a bit out of place. I also think a bit of texture could add some intrigue to the drawing, but I love the softness of it. However, because you went with a more dinosaur-like appearance, the absence of even a suggestion of scales feels like something is missing.

You really have done a wonderful job on this, and I hope my critique is helpful. I would love to see more art of this character, and more of your dragons. Keep up the spectacular work!
